Robina Courtin

The venerable Robina Courtin, born in Melbourne, Australia, is a renowned nun and teacher, a disciple of Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

Ordained in 1977, she ran the Buddhist publishing house Wisdom Publications and was editor of Mandala magazine for many years.

In 1996, she founded the Liberation Prison Project which provides moral and spiritual support to thousands of prisoners in several countries. Her life and work with prisoners has been the subject of two films: Compass: Key to Freedom and Chasing Buddha, awarded by the Australian Film Institute.

Today, the Venerable Robina continues her editorial work and teaches throughout the world, where she is appreciated for her clarity, dynamism, openness and sense of humour.
