Karma Lekshe Tsomo

Karma Lekshe Tsomo ist Professorin für Buddhistische Studien an der Universität von San Diego.

Ihre Samaneri-Ordination erhielt sie 1977 in Frankreich und ihre Bhikkhuni-Ordination in Korea 1982. Sie studierte mehr als 15 Jahre lang Buddhismus in Dharamsala (Indien).

Sie erhielt einen Doktortitel der Philosophie an der Universität von Hawai'i zum Thema Tod und Identität in China und Tibet.

Sie ist die Gründungspräsidentin von Sakyadhita, der internationalen Vereinigung Buddhistischer Frauen. Sie ist Direktorin der Jamyang Foundation, einem Hilfsprojekt für Frauen in Entwicklungsländern .
